About
Founding and branding my own studio: four years as a one-woman creative practice.
Building the identity and practice of my own independent design studio. Lucky Stars brought together brand design, client collaboration and the day-to-day work of running a creative business.
The challenge
Build a studio brand that could win freelance clients on its own. Warm and memorable, but credible enough to lead brand work for real businesses.
The approach
- 01Drew from Asian cultural symbolism, most notably the maneki-neko (the beckoning cat of good fortune), as the studio's quiet, watchful anchor: luck isn't passive, it's being ready when the moment comes.
- 02Built the name's duality into the identity: “Lucky Stars” as alignment of timing, people and purpose, expressed through a soft, bouncy wordmark and star motifs.
- 03Designed the studio around collaboration, working with clients not just on deliverables but on momentum.
The outcome
Four years running a one-woman creative force, agile enough to move quickly and intentional enough to get it right. Many of the projects in this portfolio started here.
